Tommy McDonell is an award winning artist in Moore County, NC. Formally from New York City, NY, Tommy began painting in 2007 when she took her first watercolor class. Suddenly, she was hooked on painting.

Tommy has studied with Linda Kemp, Tom Jones, Karen Walker and many others. Her work 'Blue Birthday' and 'Island Topography' won third place at the Moore Council for the Arts in 2009 and 2010.

While Tommy uses photos for reference, most of her work comes from dreams or memories. She loves bright colors, and believes that affordable art is important. While some of Tommy's work is expensive, over $300, many of her original paintings can be had for under $120.

Tommy believes that everyone should have an original painting in their home. So hang your child's work, and consider buying an original from an artist.
